About Me

-As you might have noticed, I'm a diver! But that's obvious and not why you're here. So - I was born in southern California and raised partly there and partly in Switzerland. I guess that's why I'm culturally challenged. I speak 3 1/2 languages (Swiss-German being the 1/2, you can't learn it in school.), and am a USAF vet. After discharge I entered the electronics field and made it to management. During this time I married and divorced, moving from Dallas to Albuquerque and back. "Reality", as it was taught to me by my well intentioned parents, dissipated into the hard facts of life. I was thrown into confusion and began my "journey" to find "the answers".

-Precision metalworking was next, then construction, assorted other "fun" things, and a few years as a Fossil watch repair tech/spec. In this period of exploring the big questions of life, I moved to Sedona for a couple of years, spent a few months on Oahu, then back to Dallas. Along the way I was learning and testing metaphysical ideas and practices (Reiki, Kineseology etc.), "metaphysics" in history was of particular interest to me. The conventional ideas of how life "should be" became intolerable, so I finally threw in the towel, and followed my heart.

-I got rid of everything, grabbed my back pack and bought a one-way ticket to Maui

-After living on the streets of Lahaina for a few weeks and trying to find work, I landed a job in a dive shop, collecting, filling and distributing scuba tanks to all the local hotels that offered diving, 400-600 tanks a day, depending on the season! The owner informed me that I had to learn how to dive, so I did, also getting trained in equipment repair and cylinder (scuba tank) testing and inspection. I ended up a DM with Hawaiian Rafting (see "Destinations").

...Then came 9/11 and the tourist industry went to nil overnight. I went back to Dallas on extended leave to check on my parents. Mom had the beginnings of dementia and dad needed help. There was no other family around and so began my current stint as caregiver. Met a lady, bought a house in NM, lady changed her mind, dad died, moved mom to NM. House is about to go into foreclosure, moved out to a little place in Taos...and here we are.

Other Stuff

-For fun I like to fool around with computers, building them, learning things on them and playing games (my geek side). I love to ride motorcycles, when I have one (my "biker" side). I make music with my computer, even though I can't play an instrument (my "musician" side.) I enjoy Sci-Fi, reading and watching it along with cool nature and science programs. Also cooking shows (I like to cook.) and of course action flicks. I smoke (quitting is high on the list this year.), am a beer fan, occasionally watch soccer, hockey, rugby and football. I like to hang at my favourite local pub at times, wherever I am. I like "deep" discussions and sometimes help people with their inner journeys.
